Tasting: The exceptional 2015 vintage presents an intense ruby colour with garnet highlights. The nose offers vibrant dark fruits, particularly blackberry and cassis, complemented by notes of cocoa, Mediterranean herbs, and subtle tobacco. The palate is beautifully structured with silky tannins, showing remarkable freshness balanced with ripe fruit and an elegant, persistent finish.
Pairing: Excellent with grilled red meats, particularly bistecca alla fiorentina, wild game, or aged Pecorino cheese. Decant for 1-2 hours before serving at 18°C.
Producer: Ornellaia, established in 1981 by Lodovico Antinori, stands among Italy's most iconic estates. The vineyard, rising from the Mediterranean coast through the hills of Bolgheri, benefits from a unique microclimate where maritime breezes moderate the summer heat.
