Tasting: Beautifully composed, offering refined aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry and violets, layered with cedar, graphite and subtle spice notes. The palate shows impressive depth with polished tannins, revealing layers of cassis, tobacco leaf and crushed stones, leading to a persistent, mineral-driven finish typical of Saint-Julien's terroir.
Pairing: Excellent with Sashi Beef sirloin or Miguel Vergara ribeye, particularly when served with our wild ceps or morels. Also pairs wonderfully with Cinco Jotas Presa or Lumina Lamb. For cheese, try with aged Fort Saint Antoine Comté. Decant for 2 hours before serving.
Producer: Château Lagrange, a Third Growth in the 1855 Classification, has seen remarkable revival since its acquisition by Suntory in 1983. Significant investment in both vineyard and cellar, coupled with meticulous attention to detail under technical director Matthieu Bordes, has returned this historic 118-hectare estate to its rightful place among Saint-Julien's finest properties.
Vintage: 2015 represents one of Bordeaux's great modern vintages. Near-perfect conditions throughout the growing season, with just enough rain in August to prevent hydric stress, created optimal ripening conditions. The result is a wine of exceptional balance, showing the ripeness and generosity typical of warm years while maintaining classic Saint-Julien refinement.
