The palate shows remarkable precision with layers of lime, white peach, and fresh-cut grass, underpinned by crystalline minerality. The finish is long and focused, with a distinctive chalky character that speaks of its limestone terroir.
Pairing: This refined Sauvignon Blanc pairs perfectly with Alaskan Black Cod, its bright acidity complementing the fish's buttery texture. Excellent with Tiger Prawns, where the wine's mineral notes enhance the shellfish's natural sweetness. Producer: Saget La Perrière, with over nine generations of winemaking expertise, represents one of the Loire Valley's most respected names. The 'Roi Soleil' (Sun King) cuvée pays homage to Louis XIV and represents their finest expression of Touraine Sauvignon Blanc. The fruit comes from select parcels on premium limestone-clay soils, where careful vineyard management and precise winemaking preserve the variety's distinctive character.
Vintage: 2019 was an exceptional vintage in the Loire Valley, marked by a warm, dry summer balanced by cooling influences from the Atlantic. These conditions, combined with timely rainfall, produced Sauvignon Blanc with perfect ripeness while maintaining crucial acidity and aromatic intensity.
