Producer: Mount Bullet is the flagship Merlot from Shannon Vineyards, a family-owned estate in the cool-climate Elgin Valley. Founded by James and Stuart Downes, the vineyard benefits from its high altitude and proximity to the ocean, allowing for slow, even ripening of the grapes. The Mount Bullet Merlot is crafted from five small parcels, each vinified separately to capture their unique characteristics. Winemaker Nadia Cilliers employs minimal intervention techniques to express the true nature of the terroir. Known for its consistency and quality, Mount Bullet has helped establish Elgin as a premier region for Merlot in South Africa.
