Producer: El Enemigo is a collaborative project between Alejandro Vigil, chief winemaker at Catena Zapata, and Adrianna Catena, daughter of Nicolás Catena. Founded in 2009, the winery aims to create wines that express the unique terroir of high-altitude Mendoza vineyards. Vigil's innovative approach, including the use of carbonic maceration and concrete eggs for fermentation, results in wines of remarkable depth and character. The Malbec grapes for this wine are sourced from select vineyards in Gualtallary, known for producing wines of exceptional finesse and minerality. This 2019 vintage showcases El Enemigo's commitment to crafting Malbecs that challenge traditional perceptions of the variety, offering both power and elegance.
