Producer: La Réserve de Léoville Barton is the second wine of the renowned Château Léoville Barton, a Second Growth estate in Saint-Julien. The Barton family, of Irish descent, has owned and managed the property since 1826, making it one of the oldest family-owned estates in Bordeaux. Under the current leadership of Lilian Barton Sartorius, the ninth generation, the château continues to produce wines of exceptional quality and consistency. La Réserve, made from younger vines and parcels that don't quite make it into the grand vin, offers a more approachable expression of the Léoville Barton style. The 2017 vintage, despite challenging weather conditions, showcases the estate's ability to produce elegant wines even in difficult years.
