PONT - L'ÉVÊQUE AOP
Origin: Normandy, France
One of France's oldest Norman cheeses, dating back to the 12th century. This washed-rind cheese is made from rich cow's milk and aged for six weeks, developing a distinctive orange rind and supple, ivory-coloured interior with small holes.
The square-shaped cheese offers a complex bouquet of flavours, from buttery and nutty to subtle notes of wood and earth. Its smooth, creamy texture melts effortlessly on the tongue, while the washed rind adds a pleasantly robust character.
Serve at room temperature with crusty bread and fresh fruit. For a traditional Norman pairing, enjoy with sliced apples and a glass of local cider. Can also be melted over potatoes or included in a sophisticated cheese board.
Producer: Crafted by artisan producers in the lush Normandy countryside using milk from local herds. Each cheese is hand-salted and regularly washed during maturation to develop its characteristic aroma and flavour.
