Vanilla powder is a culinary gem that is easy to use. It has the same properties as vanilla pods but is easier to store and use.
The preparation of vanilla is an entirely manual and very tedious process. The flowers are pollinated by hand, which requires a lot of discipline, patience, and love. After harvesting, the pods are first parboiled, then dried in the sun for two weeks and flattened by hand. A second long drying of eight months in trunks allows them to preserve their potent aromas. Finally, the grading stage determines the category of each pod, and Terre Exotique only offers high-quality vanilla from the Gourmet or TK range, depending on the product.
Vanilla powder is formulated with crushed vanilla planifolia pods from Madagascar. This vanilla has delicate aromas of milk chocolate and floral notes of roasted and camphorated plant essences and is infinitely sweet. Vanilla powder is completely natural and easier to measure than vanilla extract, making it perfect for quick cooking. You can sprinkle it on your fruit tarts and crumbles or infuse it in milk or cream. A teaspoon of vanilla powder is enough to flavour your fish sauces and cake mixtures.
Note that powder vanilla is made from dried and crushed lower-grade pods. Its aromas are less potent than vanilla pods, but its practical format allows prolonged use.

All items leave our facility in perfect condition with a good use-by date. Please consider this when selecting your delivery date. Once dispatched, the package is under the responsibility of our couriers, making it difficult to change the delivery address or expedite delays.
